Welcome to Mentortools! This guide will walk you through setting up your account step by step so you can quickly start creating and managing your online courses.

Create Your Account and Complete the First Setup

  • Registration: Visit mentortools.com and click "Free trial". Enter your email address.

  • User Details: After that, you'll need to enter your first and last name and create a secure password.

  • Design Selection: Choose a design for your member area that best suits your branding.

  • Course Details: In the next step, enter the name of your first course.

  • Portal Creation: Wait a moment while your custom portal is being created.

  • Final Step: Click "Finish" to be redirected to the administration view.

  • Note: Make sure you confirm your email address if you haven't already. (You will receive a confirmation email from us after creating your account.)

Adjust General Settings

  • Customize Design: Navigate to "Design" > "Look-and-Feel".

  • Branding: Enter the name of your academy or company and upload your logo. Adjust the colors to match your branding.

  • Footer: Activate and customize your footer by adjusting visibility, style, text, colors, background image, personalized links, and an optional footer icon through the settings.

  • Language Settings: Click the gear icon to go to Settings. 

  • Under "General", you can select the default language for your platform.

Create Your First Course

With Mentortools, you can easily create, structure, and customize courses. In this guide, we'll show you how to create a new course and edit existing ones.

Create a New Course

Note: With Mentortools, you can create courses in different ways.

  • Log in to Mentortools and navigate to "Courses" in the sidebar menu.

  • Choose between one of three options: "Create Course", "Browse Templates", or "Generate with AI".

  • Note: Regardless of the method you choose, you can always add and edit content and adjust the structure of your course.

Create a course from scratch:

  • Enter basic information such as the course title, category, and description.

  • Manually add lessons to the course (see this section).

  • Click "Save" to create the course.

Use a template:

Choose from pre-made course templates and customize them to your needs.

  • Select a suitable template from the library.

  • The structure and some content will be automatically adopted.

  • Edit the given content as needed.

  • Save the course and continue customizing it.

Generate a course with AI:

Use artificial intelligence to automatically generate a course structure that you can then edit.

  • Enter a topic or title for your course.

  • The AI will generate a course structure with pre-made content.

  • Review the generated content and adapt it to your needs.

  • Save the created course and edit it as needed.

  • Click "Save" to create the course.

Add Content to a Course

  • Click on "Modules" for the course you created, and a drop-down menu showing all modules will open. (This is how you can add a new module to the desired course).

  • Change Lesson Order: Drag and drop the lessons to the desired position.

  • Choose Lesson Type:

    • Video: Upload a video or embed a YouTube/Vimeo video.

    • Text: Create a text-based lesson with images and formatting.

    • Files: Add PDF documents, worksheets, or other files.

    • Quiz: Create interactive quiz questions to test knowledge.

  • Click "Save" to add the lesson.

Change an Existing Course

  • Navigate to "Courses" in the menu and select the desired course. Click the gear icon to open the settings.

  • You can make the following changes:

    • Edit Title, Title Image, Category, or Description: Click the pencil icon and adjust the content.

    • Edit or Delete a Lesson: Open a lesson and edit the content or delete it via the menu.

  • Save your changes.

Publish or Hide a Course

  • Publish or Hide: Activate your finished course for your members or temporarily deactivate it if you need to make changes.
